The Deliverers: How Samoset, Squanto, John, and Jesus Reveal God’s Pattern of Peace
As we approach a new global moment and head toward 2026, many believers are asking where true deliverance will come from in a world overwhelmed by conflict and uncertainty. In our latest TMF Warrior episode, “The Deliverers: The Prophets of Plymouth and the Promise of Peace,” we explore how God has always responded to the cry of His people—and how His pattern of deliverance stretches from Plymouth Colony all the way back to Scripture.
This message is more than history. It’s a spiritual blueprint for the present.
Samoset: The Unexpected Forerunner of Plymouth
On March 16, 1621, the Pilgrims were facing starvation, fear, and the constant threat of attack. Half their number had already died. Their survival seemed impossible.
Then a Native American warrior stepped boldly out of the woods and welcomed them in perfect English. His name was Samoset, and his arrival shattered the fear gripping the struggling colony.
Samoset didn’t come to save them alone—he came to point them toward someone else.
Squanto: A Story Shaped by Providence
Just days later, Samoset returned with Squanto, whose life story shows unmistakable signs of divine preparation. Squanto had been kidnapped, enslaved, rescued, educated overseas, and returned home only to find his entire tribe gone.
Yet this painful journey uniquely prepared him to deliver the Pilgrims from starvation. He taught them agriculture, fishing, trade, and diplomacy. Squanto became the key to their survival.
History shows a pattern: God prepares deliverers long before we know we need them.
A Divine Pattern: Samoset → Squanto and John → Jesus
The relationship between Samoset and Squanto mirrors one of Scripture’s clearest prophetic patterns. In the Bible, John the Baptist arrived first, preparing the hearts of the people. He served as the forerunner.
Then came Jesus Christ, the true Deliverer—the one who brought salvation and peace to the world.
Even before birth, John recognized Jesus. When Mary greeted Elizabeth, Scripture says the baby John leaped in the womb (Luke 1:41). The Forerunner was already pointing to the Deliverer.
Why This Matters for Us Today
From Plymouth to Judea, the pattern remains the same:
- When God’s people cry out, He sends a deliverer.
- When fear rises, He provides peace.
- When the world shakes, He prepares a way forward.
In our time—marked by conflict, economic instability, and global uncertainty—the world is crying out again. And the answer remains unchanged: the Prince of Peace.
In TMF Warrior, we define FAITH as F.A.I.T.H. — Full Assurance In Trusting Him. It’s not passive belief; it’s confident trust that God still moves, still delivers, still prepares.
A Call to Global Prayer and Peace
This moment in history calls us to pray together:
- Pray for deliverance in our nations.
- Pray for repentance, healing, and unity.
- Pray for the Prince of Peace to move across the world.
Just as He delivered the Pilgrims, just as He prepared John, and just as He sent Jesus, God is still writing the story.
A Message for TMF Warriors
In the episode, we close with this final reminder:
Cry out, and God will provide a deliverer.
